Background: Dr. Kitko is a GVHD expert at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She and the GVHD clinic provide comprehensive care for patients with acute and chronic graft versus host disease (GVHD). For patients transplanted at Vanderbilt, the clinic provides regularly scheduled screenings and education regarding the signs and symptoms of GVHD. Dr. Kitko is also able to provide consultation for patients that have been transplanted elsewhere. The clinic has a large portfolio of clinical trials available for screening, prevention and treatment of GVHD. In addition, they work closely with colleagues in other areas such as dermatology, oral medicine, rehabilitation and pulmonary to provide a comprehensive treatment plan.
