Background: Dr. Mitchell is the Director of the Massachusetts General Hospital Vulvovaginal Disorders Program. She works closely with her oncology colleagues caring for stem cell transplant patients who have vaginal symptoms that may be related to GVHD. Her usual approach is to first ensure that she's sure the symptoms are due to GVHD, and then with the oncology team, identify what combination of systemic and topical treatments will help relieve symptoms.
