There are many benefits to art therapy and card making in particular:

  • Stress relief: quick, playful, and an enjoyable way to make art! 
  • Mood boost: Giving handmade cards to friends and family can create a sense of joy and satisfaction.
  • Emotional connection: Cards can create an emotional connection between the sender and recipient.
  • Physical connection: Cards are tangible and tactile, and the fact that both parties have touched the card creates a physical connection.

Suggested Materials:

  • Drawing materials- ink pens, pencils
  • Markers or colored pencils
  • Watercolor paints
  • Thick drawing paper, cardstock, or watercolor paper
