Stronger Than GVHD
GVHD Day is observed each year on February 17, bringing the transplant community together to raise awareness of graft-versus-host disease and the importance of education, early recognition, and support.
GVHD can shape life after a stem cell transplant in complex and often
unpredictable ways. For patients, care partners, and loved ones, navigating
GVHD often means managing uncertainty while seeking reliable
information, guidance, and connection.
This year’s GVHD Day campaign theme is Stronger Than GVHD. This
message is not about overcoming GVHD through individual strength alone, but about the power of shared knowledge, research, early symptom
awareness, and a community committed to supporting those affected. Together, these efforts help ensure that no one faces GVHD without information or support.
What can you do to support people who are living with GVHD?
- Show your support for GVHD patients by sharing your words of inspiration on our GVHD Wall of Hope.
- Talk to your family and friends about why we need to conquer GVHD.
- From now until February 27th, post a message of hope for GVHD patients on BMT InfoNet’s social media:
- Don't use social media? Email your photo and message of hope to help@bmtinfonet.org and we’ll share the photo and message for you.
- View the GVHD Wall of Hope
Let’s join together to highlight the need for more GVHD research and patient support, so that those who conquered a deadly disease by undergoing a transplant can enjoy their second chance of life, free of GVHD.
