Background: Dr. Ciarrocca is the Director of Duke Oral Medicine where she treats patients with oral complications of transplant, including oral GVHD. Her goal is to reduce the amount of irritation and inflammation in the mouth, so that patients can eat, drink and speak without pain. She has many years of experience managing patients with both acute GVHD and chronic GVHD. She works together with the patient and patient's oncologist to find the best, individualized treatment regimen to improve symptoms, maintain function and ultimately improve the patient's quality of life.
