The annoyance of GVHD comes and goes, but the beauty of life and all that is before me is what I live for. Peace and blessings, you can do this too!!
For those who deal with GVHD daily, myself included, it can be a life disruptor to be sure. It is important to access through your transplant care team, all the tools that are available to help you in dealing with GVHD. I also find it valuable to talk with other people who are dealing with GVHD, to hear what, with whom, and how they are managing. There have been advances in the treatment for GVHD, and in recognizing its severity in patients. For this, I am grateful to my healthcare team for helping me to manage and work through my GVHD. Help is out there, be sure to access all that is available to you.
My message of hope.... just think about all you would have missed in your life had you not had your transplant. Each and every day I give thanks to God, my family, my friends, and all those beautiful people who touch my life and I am grateful for. I would never have met my most precious 3 grandchildren, had all the incredible daily interactions with wonderful people, learned to appreciate the little things in life, and trusted in so many. So, the annoyance of GVHD comes and goes, but the beauty of life and all that is before me is what I live for. Peace and blessings, you can do this too!!
