Background: Ms. Katz is a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in working with patients with blood cancers (leukemia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma) as well as the benign blood disorders. In addition to her private practice, she works full time at the Robert H Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University.
Many of her patients are preparing for, or have undergone a stem cell transplant. She has more limited experience with patients who have undergone CAR T-cell therapy. She is very familiar with graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). The challenges her patients face are many and she assists them in coping with each step as well as the long term side effects and issues they encounter afterwards.
