Background: Prior to starting her private practice, Ms. Durbin spent 10+ years working as an oncology social worker at large academic medical centers in Chicago, as well as with the American Cancer Society. She was part of a bone marrow transplant team for two years and has experience with all phases of transplant from initial diagnosis through long-term survivorship. She has worked with patients who are dealing with graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), as well as other post-transplant issues such as secondary cancers, relapse and end of life concerns.
Her private practice focuses on patients with chronic illness and those experiencing grief and loss. She works with the Wellness House in Hinsdale, IL where she facilitates support groups and runs workshops on caregiving and grief and loss.
